Mr. Ravi S. Menon is a member of the founding family of Air Works India with 5 decades of aviation experience. Air Works, established in 1951, completing 70 years on 16 April 2021, has been a pioneering organisation in aviation MRO services.

Mr. Ravi S. Menon has been responsible for initiating the transformation of Air Works from a family business to a professionally managed organisation with PE organisations, and establishing the country’s first 3rd party airline MRO in Hosur, Tamil Nadu with DGCA and EASA Certifications; acquisition of a specialist aircraft painting services Company – Air Livery of UK, and developing India’s first dedicated quality aircraft repainting capability in-Country; the acquisition of ATE of France, the prime painting service provider for Airbus and ATR; the acquisition of Empire Aviation – Dubai, an aircraft management organization; securing Authorised Service Centre recognition from most of the leading aircraft, engines and avionics manufacturers; securing long term leases of 2 narrow body hangars at Cochin International Airport.

His other accomplishments include:
Membership of MRO Association of India, actively interacting with the Ministry of Civil Aviation for driving reforms and creating an investor friendly environment for MRO in India.

Fellow of Aeronautical Society of India, past Chairman of the Mumbai chapter and member of the Governing Council.

Member of the Rotary Wing Society of India.

Member of the first Executive Council of the Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University.

Member of CII National Chapter on Civil Aviation.

Member of FICCI.

Member of the Civil Aviation Safety Advisory Council. (Disbanded)
